SUNDAY WORSHIP

We continue to meet each Sunday at 11.00am, for gathered worship in the church building. Please do remember that even if you don't yet feel ready for or comfortable with the idea of gathering with others in-person in the church building, you can still join with the church family for worship via the livestream on Sunday mornings or by accessing a recording of the service which will be available after worship has taken place. You can find both of these options by clicking on the Sunday Worship link.

PRAYER

This week we'd encourage you to engage again with the PCI's 'Let's Pray' resource which is focused around helping you pray, in a relevant way, into a variety of areas, local and global, of the life and witness of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and also into the ongoing challenges facing church and society. You can download this week's 'Let's Pray' by clicking here.

The PrayerMate App is an award-winning Christian prayer app that seeks to help you actually pray for all the people and causes you care about. PrayerMate brings all your prayer points together. Whether it's your personal prayer points for friends and family, regular updates from mission organisations, or the latest version of PCI's 'Let's Pray', PrayerMate puts it all together in one place and helps you focus on what's important -  praying! To download the free PrayerMate App simply visit Apple App Store or Play Store for Android.

BIBLE STUDY

Our Tuesday evening Bible study is back, after a short summer break, for the autumn season,  recommencing on Tuesday 17th October 2023 at 7.30pm on the Zoom platform, when we will be beginning a series of studies taking us through the first twelve chapters of the book of Acts.

The eight studies will take us through these first chapters of Luke's second volume of writings chronicling events in the life of the early church. The first twelve chapters of Acts contain some of the most well known portions of Scripture: the ascension of Jesus; the coming of the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost; the first Christian martyrdom; the conversion of the church's arch-enemy, Saul; and the coming of the gospel to the Gentiles. As we explore some of these familiar sections of Scripture again through these studies we will be reminded that God is sovereign, in our lives and in His world, even when we might not understand what He is doing. Behind each event, we will see the sovereign hand of God at work, giving birth to His church, shaping His church, using His church, and growing His church.... and inviting us, today, to join Him in this work.

The questions that we will be thinking into in each of the studies will be available to download from this page at least a week before the Tuesday when that study will take place. The Zoom link to enable you to join the studies will be circulated by the usual routes but if you think you'd like to come along and are not sure how to receive the Zoom link please contact Rev Fiona - we'd love you to join us as we delve into these studies charting the birth of the church - a church that still stands, that we are members of by faith, and that has the same mission as the church started in Acts - a task unfinished - of being Christ's witnesses "... to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

The seventh of our Bible studies on the book of Acts, focusing on Acts chapters 10 and 11, will take place on Wednesday 15th May at 7.30pm. You can find the questions we will be looking at together on that evening here.

RESOURCES

The Presbyterian Church in Ireland is continuing to add content to the 'Refined' resources hub. 'Refined' follows on from the 'These three remain...' initiative launched as a response to the first lockdown of March 2020. The 'Refined' initiative aims to help congregations move on from what was initially needed to respond to all that was happening in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, to seeking God's leading and guidance in responding to the impact of the pandemic on our church families. A range of devotions, prayer points, blogs, podcasts, and stories as well as digital webinars, digital conferences, and digital spaces for conversation and reflection can all be found within the 'Refined' hub, alongside practical help and guidance to encourage and equip churches and their members on the journey towards the resumption of a fuller and fresh expression of church life. To explore 'Refined' click here.

You can also find some suggestions for books to read and other resources to engage with alongside some thoughts on how we might do this together in new ways by clicking on the 'Soul Café' link.
