SUNDAY WORSHIP

We continue to meet each Sunday at 11.00am, for gathered worship in the church building. Please do remember that even if you aren't able to gather with us in-person in the church building you can still join with the church family for worship via the livestream on Sunday mornings or by accessing a recording of the service which will be available after worship has taken place. You can find both of these options by clicking on the Sunday Worship link.

PRAYER

This week we'd encourage you to engage again with the PCI's 'Let's Pray' resource which is focused around helping you pray, in a relevant way, into a variety of areas, local and global, of the life and witness of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and also into the ongoing challenges facing church and society. You can download this week's 'Let's Pray' by clicking here.

The PrayerMate App is an award-winning Christian prayer app that seeks to help you actually pray for all the people and causes you care about. PrayerMate brings all your prayer points together. Whether it's your personal prayer points for friends and family, regular updates from mission organisations, or the latest version of PCI's 'Let's Pray', PrayerMate puts it all together in one place and helps you focus on what's important -  praying! BIBLE STUDY

Our Tuesday evening Bible study returns, after the summer break, for the autumn season, on Tuesday 17th September 2024 at 7.30pm , when we will be continuing our journey through the book of Acts with a series of eight studies covering the second half of the book, chapters 13-28.

The first twelve chapters of Acts chronicled the birth and growth of the Jerusalem church, from Jesus' ascension and the coming of the Spirit at Pentecost to the martyrdom of Stephen and the conversion of Saul, and finally to the coming of the gospel to the first non-Jews. In our journey together through chapters 13-28 we will see how the gospel began to extend to the ends of the earth, travelling with Saul (now called Paul) throughout the Roman Empire as he preaches, plants churches, and is finally arrested and put on trial for his faithfulness to Christ. We will come to learn that a life of ease, comfort, and prosperity does not await those zealous for God's kingdom but we will also see revealed the glorious grace, mercy, and power of God encouraging us to grasp the truth that by living faithfully, relying upon the Spirit, and trusting the promises of God, we can have all we need as we go out as ambassadors for Christ.

We'd love you to join us as we continue our study of the book of Acts, the story of the apostles and the earliest churches - the story which is also the story of the worldwide church and continues in and through the church family we are part of today. Our prayer is that these studies will encourage, strengthen, and equip us to be witness of Jesus Christ, wherever and whoever we are: even "... to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

The questions that we will be thinking into in each of the studies will be available to download from this page at least a week before the Tuesday when that study will take place. If you'd like a bit more information or to chat about what is involved in coming along to Bible Study please get in touch with Rev Fiona.

RESOURCES

The Presbyterian Church in Ireland launched the Present initiative at the General Assembly in June 2024. The initiative will roll out over three successive church years, inviting and encouraging congregations and their members to make themselves fully present to God who is ever present to us.

As congregations we are invited to explore and express being present in four particular ways:

In doing so the initiative seeks to:

As such, Present is simple enough for every congregation to engage with, but significant enough to really make a difference if we do so.

The initiative is set to unfold over three years, giving time and space for the theme to become familiar and embedded in our consciousness and then to grow and take root in whatever way is most appropriate in our local setting and circumstances.
